Environmental Sensitivities
EMR Australia, Friday, April 15, 2016

The Australian National Register for Environmental Sensitivities (ANRES) has released its first data. Do you have any of the following sensitivities: Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME), Lyme Disease, Biotoxin-related illness, Fibromyalgia, food sensitivity or fragrance sensitivity? If so, you can register on the ANRES website, and this will help ANRES demonstrate that large numbers of   read more

Who is most likely to be at risk from radiofrequency (RF) radiation
EMR Australia, Thursday, April 14, 2016

Young people, the aged and those with cancer are the most likely to be at risk from radiofrequency (RF) radiation, according to a recent paper in ‘Reviews on Environmental Health.’ In their review of the scientific literature, Dr Mary Redmayne and Professor Olle Johansson, found that exposure affected a number of biological processes differently according to age. These may result in different effects on health and well-being. ‘We took a new approach with this paper. We were particularly   read more

Reduce exposure and feel better!
EMR Australia, Tuesday, April 12, 2016

We love to receive good-news stories from our customers - like this one. A family hired our Home Test Kit to measure the electromagnetic fields in their home and this is what they reported. 'Our girl was extremely proactive and her bed was against the power meter. She observed direct emissions right where her head would lie in bed. So by moving her room around and placing her IPad away from her sleep position etc she was able to go to minimal emission readings on the gadgets. This   read more

Argentina aims to reduce EMR exposure
EMR Australia, Monday, April 11, 2016

Proposed legislation in Argentina aims to reduce public exposure to wireless radiation from mobile phones, base stations and WiFi. The bill, introduced by Deputy Gabriela Troiano, aims to protect people from both the heating and biological effects of wireless radiation and follows widespread public outcries against electromagnetic pollution. It proposes: to limit emissions from digital mobile phone base stations to 0.1 uW/cm2; to keep mobile base stations at least 100 metres from r  read more

Smart Meters in NSW
EMR Australia, Friday, April 08, 2016

The NSW State Government and electricity suppliers are using renewable energy and price savings as hooks to encouraging customers to install 'smart' electricity meters that emit wireless radiation. The Government has written to customers participating in the Solar Bonus Scheme which ends on 31 December this year encouraging them to 'investigate the possibility of a smart meter for your home'. The letter extols the benefits of smart meters for energy consumption but fails to mention that the   read more

A message to schools & libraries about the risks of wireless radiation
EMR Australia, Monday, February 29, 2016

A retired US physicist has called on libraries and schools to address the risks of wireless radiation. Dr Ronald Powell, who worked for the Executive Office of the President, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, expressed concerns about the impact of wireless radiation in an open letter of 20 August. ‘The vast majority of the thousands of peer reviewed research publications of this [international biomedical] community, when funded ind  read more

EMR Updates - EMR & Health March 2016 Issue
EMR Australia, Friday, February 26, 2016

ELF fields (from electrical sources) Cancer Magnetic fields can promote cancer, according to a major new study from Italy. Researchers exposed 650 rats to a magnetic field of 200 or 10,000 mG, from before birth, for their entire lives and exposed them to a single dose of ionizing radiation when they were 6 weeks of age. The exposed rats had increased rates of mammary gland (breast) cancers, schwannomas of the heart and leukemia/lymphoma. The authors suggested their results called for a   read more

Does wireless radiation affect people’s health—and is it safe to even ask the question?
EMR Australia, Tuesday, February 23, 2016

On 16 February, ABC TV’s ‘Catalyst’ aired a program on wireless radiation called ’Wi- Fried?’ that sparked a media backlash of the ugliest kind. The theme of the program, presented by award-winning journalist, Dr Maryanne Demasi, was ‘Could WiFi-enabled devices be harmful to our health?’—a question of importance to every single Australian. Demasi revealed that people may be using wireless devices in ways that expose them to more radiation than allowed by the Australian standard.  read more

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity
EMR Australia, Friday, January 29, 2016

Recent studies shed new insights on the condition of electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS). Diagnosis and treatment A group of 17 scientists from six nations has produced the EUROPAEM EMF Guideline 2015 for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of EMF-related health problems and illnesses’. 1 Their paper reports the results of Professor Belpomme’s study on 1200 people with EHS and/or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). ‘Both EHS and MCS appear to paint a common picture of inflamm  read more

‘No risk’ project
EMR Australia, Friday, January 22, 2016

Documents developed in Sweden during the 1990s showing a connection between electromagnetic fields and symptoms are once again in the public domain. The documents were produced by the Swedish Union of Clerical and Technical Employees in Industry (SiF). They presented results of several surveys which found that office workers experienced a range of uncomfortable symptoms and recommended strategies for reducing exposure in the IT environment. They were later withdrawn and have not been  read more
