EMR and depression
EMR Australia, Thursday, June 23, 2016

Electromagnetic fields affect calcium channels, increasing calcium levels in cells and triggering a chain of events that leads to symptoms such as depression, according to Professor Martin Pall. This occurs at nonheathing (athermal) levels of exposure - ie levels that comply with Australian and international standards. You can read Professor Pall's paper describing this mechanism and its effects here. (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0891061815000599)   read more

Mobile phone symptoms
EMR Australia, Monday, May 02, 2016

Researchers from India conducted a survey of mobile phone use and symptoms in a town called Kottakuppam. Their results, published in January, show that users experienced a range of uncomfortable symptoms, including headaches, earaches, tinnitus, sore fingers and restlessness, fatigue, eye problems, sleep problems and hypertension. Wearable fitness devices
EMR Australia, Saturday, April 16, 2016

They're supposed to improve fitness and health, but here's a case where a wearable fitness device actually worsened the wearer's health. In 2014 a lady from Queensland bought a fitness armband with wireless function, designed to track the number of steps she took each day, and wore it continually, only taking it off once a week to charge it. Soon after, she developed serious problems. She experienced enormous fluctuations in blood pressure, dizziness, severe depression, mood swings,   read more

Environmental Sensitivities
EMR Australia, Friday, April 15, 2016

The Australian National Register for Environmental Sensitivities (ANRES) has released its first data. Do you have any of the following sensitivities: Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME), Lyme Disease, Biotoxin-related illness, Fibromyalgia, food sensitivity or fragrance sensitivity? If so, you can register on the ANRES website, and this will help ANRES demonstrate that large numbers of   read more

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity
EMR Australia, Friday, January 29, 2016

Recent studies shed new insights on the condition of electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS). Diagnosis and treatment A group of 17 scientists from six nations has produced the EUROPAEM EMF Guideline 2015 for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of EMF-related health problems and illnesses’. 1 Their paper reports the results of Professor Belpomme’s study on 1200 people with EHS and/or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). ‘Both EHS and MCS appear to paint a common picture of inflamm  read more

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity
EMR Australia, Friday, September 03, 2010

World renowned experts present the latest scientific evidence of electromagnetic hypersensitivity in Dallas. In June specialists from around the globe gathered in Dallas for a four-day conference on electromagnetic hypersensitivity that presented the latest medical and scientific research on this little-understood condition. Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) is an extreme reaction to some electromagnetic frequencies, in the same way that people react to one or more chemicals. S  read more

Electrical Sensitivity (EHS)
EMR Australia, Wednesday, September 01, 2004

Electrical sensitivity was the topic of a day-long symposium organised by Coghill Research Laboratories and held at the Royal Society of Medicine, London on 11 September. What is Electrical Sensitivity? Electrical sensitivity, or electrical hypersensitivity as it is sometimes called, is an allergic-type reaction to electromagnetic radiation from different sources. By the most conservative estimates, hundreds of thousands of people worldwide suffer from it. Electrical sensitivity appears   read more

How EMR affects the body
EMR Australia, Monday, September 04, 2000

At last - a hypothesis that explains the symptoms that exposed people are reporting! Drs Shabnam Gangi and Olle Johansson have developed a compelling hypothesis that mast cells are implicated in the allergic responses that are often experienced by people after prolonged exposure to EMR, especially from computers. This is based on a number of observations. Firstly, people with such symptoms have a higher number of mast cells, larger mast cells and a different pattern of mast cell distribu  read more
