'This is the third and final Moral Technologies conference in Australia, and its purpose is twofold; one aspect is to enable us as participants to engage with and understand the technological progress of the past, present and future. The other element is to use this understanding to seek new ways of thinking and working with existing technology in a practical sense, and also to develop new technologies. The intention is to speak of technologies not only in general terms, but also in their immediate details. This will cover topics ranging from old tools and steam engines to smartphone apps, in terms of processes as well as the materials used for these devices.'
