Researchers at Ohio State University are developing fabrics that can be used to transmit or receive electromagnetic signals.

Called e-textiles, the fabrics are embroidered with silver thread, the shape of the embroidered design determining the frequency.

The plan is to use the fabrics to boost phone signals or transmit data about body function to a device.
